I often forget to pish when I'm trying to find a bird in the bushes. Then when I'm out with better birders, I see how very effective it can be.

Now if only the grackles would learn a little of this community-mindedness and give the rose-breasted grosbeaks a turn at the feeder, I would be thrilled.
