Bright Moon - a land sullied by mystery and the ravaging scars of a terrible fire. Abandoned as a pack land for years, the terra has been used as a gathering place for the brazen and bloodthirsty drawn there by the lingering pall of death. Yet from the ashes there comes an unordained phoenix, the rainbow hues of hope glinting in her mismatched globes. Through the obsidian drapes obscuring the scenery, she alone was able to catch the perfumed aroma of new life on the breeze and hear the sluggish streams flowing ever swifter into the morning.

Thus, with a purpose, she set out to map the incognita, discovering daily the extent of the reawakening and unearthing within herself a desire to return the landscape to its former glory. Now she stands tall as privileged Alpha of the lands, lording over the rock-strewn prairie and bountiful forests with a firm but gentle paw.

Having finally realized her deepest longing to be a queen, Satowra is focused solely on the revival and maintenance of the Bright Moon Pack. Her question to each prospective warrior that comes to the border is simple:

"Do you have what it takes?"

It doesn't take long to get noticed, though at the time I'm still struggling with the question of whether I want to be noticed. Doubts fill my thoughts. Was it right to run? Was it right to leave Andere? Should I have stayed and given the new female a chance? Should I have swallowed my fear and faced my demons? Of course, I know that a new alpha is nothing compared to the torment I've been living with for a year or so now. A new alpha should have been cake compared to the endless nightmares and sickening doubt. Heck, you would think I'd welcome change by now.

To tell the truth, I don't know what I'd welcome anymore. All I do know is I'm here now and with the scent hitting my nostrils, time is up and it's time to face the music.

Wide golden eyes fall on the majestic golden beast coming toward me. His eyes are entrancing, a deep icy blue, never ending and yet there's a guard there, a barrier to block others out. Of course, that might be reading too deep into it. After all, I just saw the creature, let along got close enough to look into his eyes.

He comes closer, a slow smile tugging at his lips. I feel my own wanting to return it, an instinctive move, yet I can't get my lips to move yet. Instead I stare, eyes wide and innocent, body tense and unsure, everything about me oozing uncertainty and fear.

Finally he speaks, starting off with the basic hello. I stop my pacing to listen, turning toward him but still unsure how to act. Will he be the one to chase me away then? His expression oozes warmth and reassurance yet I'm unable to accept it till I know my fate. Something flickers in his eyes, something I can relate to yet I'm too scared to reach out and find out what it is. I drop my gaze, looking at the ground, paws shuffling as my ears flicker.

He continues speaking, calling himself Raylen. He holds a rank in this pack, a Beta, the second in command. I guess I should be comforted that a ranked wolf doesn't look mean or intimidating. He doesn't act like he's about to chase me off. He even tries to make the playing field more equal, telling me to call him Ray. At this, the corners of my lips do quirk up a bit, tugging toward a smile, a weak one, but a smile none the less.

Then he slips right into the questions. My ears flick back, lacing to my skull as I duck my head, showing respect and fear again. Sighing softly, almost inaudibly, I turn my eyes up a little, not daring to meet his crystalline depths yet looking somewhere over his shoulder, my voice soft and defeated. My name is Misty. I come from Andere Siete and before that, the north, the mountains. I know better than to ask questions of my own so instead I just wait.
