To loose someone was a difficult thing to go through, yes, but she couldn’t say that she had ever lost someone like a best friend or such, her father and sister had disappeared before she was born, so it wasn’t as if it was that large of an impact on her life. She had stuck close to her mother’s side during her beginning years, never really venturing away because she feared her mother would loose her mind if she did so. Sarai was a confusing creature at times and Constantine didn’t really have any other words to describe her mother. But that wasn’t what Constantine wanted to think about.
Moving to the Desert hadn’t been too harsh on her, but she had been able to see the effect it had on Eli, obviously it wasn’t what he wanted, she could see that from afar. They hadn’t spent much one on one time, at least no where near as much as she saw him spend with Elise. He had loved the paradise, she knew that, but in her mind, a home wasn’t about a specific place that made you feel wonderful. It was about a place where you could raise your family without a fear that it’d be ripped from underneath you without a second glance. Constantine wouldn’t realize it, but Sylvia and Eli would always be the two most important people in her life. She wanted them to know her family oh so bad, but she had no idea her father was back in the isalnds at all. She knew her mom was wandering somewhere, but she still had yet to come into the picture to see her daughter’s new family.
The early evening sky crept across the soft sky as she stood in the water. Sylvia was off on her own like usual, and she had this strange tug to find Eli tonight. The soft shadows played mind games with Constantine as she moved out of the soft waves and onto the sand. She had been at the far end of the territory, in the waves that led to the other islands. So as she wandered, she saw him at the soft water that was at the other side, where the shore was partially sand, partially stones and she realized something was off with him, and it wasn’t a normal feeling to see him the way he was this night.
Those enchanting eyes of his were closed, and a nearly pained look was across his face and she couldn’t bear it. She walked quietly up beside him, her nose touching his shoulder, pressing softly in a firm way against his toned muscle, breathing in the soft scent that was everything about Eli.
“What’s bothering you on a night like this Eli? I’ve never seen you like this before.”
Her soft voice reached out as she pulled back, her soft eyes of a milky emerald green watched the man who was the father of her daughter, the one she had decided to stick with because it felt right. This tension felt so wrong to her, she needed to know if she could help him.
