Vega felt a jolt of giddiness when she saw her stallion, that feeling quickly disappeared as Aramis bumped her side. She bent around and nuzzled the baby. "I-I think there's something wrong," She said fearfully, turning back to Ennuis. Then she saw how tensed he was, the look on his face. He knew what was wrong, she could feel it.I can't do this. He said, nuzzling her briefly then running away as her heart broke. "Ennuis!" She called, her voice going hoarse. She turned to Dragon, when had he gotten there? "I think so," She whispered, nuzzling the baby again. She didn't understand, Ennuis had been so excited when Varin had been born, what was so different about Aramis?
Her head whipped around to the other stallion. Blind?! But... how? Vega drooped her head, feeling the tears run down her face. The feelings of emptiness and loneliness came back full force if not worse than before. If Ennuis couldn't do this, then how could she? It seemed that Ennuis preferred children who were healthy or perfect, not those who had small flaws. Vega snorted and stamped a hoof. "This is his son and he left without even learning his name," She whispered looking to Dragon. "Should I assume he'll do this whenever he sees Aramis?" The mare asked bitterly. Replies:
