Beyond the Doubtful

Razvan had not gotten very much time to rest before leaving the Quarry. A stallion he had never heard of before had stolen his girl from Midas in which he wasn’t too sure if he was happy or upset about. Midas had at least allowed him to be with Kade and Sahara. What were this stallion’s plans? The painted boy thought it was strange that they were meeting up in the Desert though he knew that Encantador had requested it. That stallion was most definitely watching his back and Razvan could never be more grateful for a friend such as him. He had provided more than Razvan could ever repay back but hopefully someday he could prove that he had been worth the effort. How was still the question.

White legs kicking out through the waters, Razvan had lost sight of Sahara and Kade. He had not called out to them; afraid of getting only a mouth full of water and drowning. It was hard enough as it was keeping his head above the water. His chest was full of nothing but pain and it was making it harder and harder to breath. When he finally reached the shore he was trembling uncontrollably and could barely even stand. How had he even gotten back here was still unknown to him. The water that slicked his body outlined his ribs to show just how skinny he was. His dull eyes were starting to have more life to them thanks to the company of the two women he loved most and the joy of having the children they had given him. Ah yes, what a ragged state he was in.

Carefully moving over to Sahara and Kade, Razvan reached out to press his muzzle into her neck before looking down at Kade. He seemed like he was okay and so finally he raised his head and looked around. The hide of a buckskin stallion came into his view and instantly he knew it was not Encantador. Pulling away from Sahara, Razvan took a few steps towards the stranger that could be none other than Debonaire. He wasn’t even half the size of the stronger and healthier stallion and could easily be stomped into the ground but Razvan still tried to hold himself as dignified as possible. Hopefully he would not be looked down upon for his weak body but recognized for his still sharp mind.

“Debonaire I presume?” he said with a nod of his head in greeting. “Welcome to the Desert”
