Beyond the Doubtful

Razvan was exhausted. The trek to the Quarry and then such a quick return had taken it out of the stallion. Though he was in a bit better condition than when he had first found Alexa it wasn’t that much better. The stallion still wasn’t sure what was making him this way but was at least learning his limits on such things that would or wouldn’t make him worse. Learning how to take his time on getting places was a big thing for him. Maybe that was why he was able to make it between the islands. The swim also hadn’t been that far.

Now that Sahara was back with him, Razvan had to go find Alexa. He hoped that she would see this as good news as the two of them was what had keep him alive for so long. Jealousy was a strong thing with mares and he didn’t know what he would do if Alexa reacted that way instead. Before he allowed himself any conclusions the painted stallion decided he would at least find his love first. The thought of their daughter being with her wasn’t even something that occurred to his mind. Yes, he knew she had been pregnant. It was something he was very happy about just as he had been with Sahara but he truthfully didn’t realize how long it had been since he last saw Alexa.

As if someone had been listening in on his thoughts; Alexa’s scent drifted to the stallion’s nose as he made his way among the sands. Coming to a standstill he raised his head and drank in more of her scent as his eyes looked for the color of her pelt. He didn’t see her so he turned and began following the direction that her scent was coming from. The oasis was what greeted him first before his eyes settled upon the laying mare and the playing foal. Instantly he froze as his eyes landed upon the roaned child. His white legs wouldn’t move even if he tried and his eyes would not leave her every move as she played in the water. Could it possibly be? Could two of his children have already entered this world and he had missed both? He just truthfully couldn’t believe it.
