Yesterday evening I decided it would likely be cold enough overnight that I didn't have to bother bringing in the bird feeders.
Then as I was turning out the lights for the night, what should I see but two raccoons, one having already pulled over the hook with the big feeder on it.
So on go the boots, coat and headlight and out I go to bring the feeders in.
Couldn't find one of the suet cages and as I was looking for it around the spruce tree where it should have been, I looked up and saw a flying squirrel which appeared to be licking at the dried sap on a knot about 8 feet up the tree.
