raise your open palms like tiny daggers up to heaven

Her call made him push toward her all the faster, light hooves digging deeply into the soil with every long stride. She danced before him like some wish come true. Why he felt so strongly at seeing her was a mystery. He had not had such a rush of emotions in years, not since she had left him. What was it about the starkly painted woman that drew him like a moth to a flame? She was young and energetic, unspoiled and with such an unbiased view of the world. Perhaps that was it for he longed to have that mindset again.

She was just how he remembered her. All excitement and motion which was tangible to him. He studied her up and down with a huge, lopsided grin playing across his face. “I'm glad you like it! You came at the right time too, most of the Summer showers have passed through and its all sunshine these days.” He rambled on for no reason other than to talk to her. To be honest he didn't think the territory surrounding them could hold a candle to what was in front of him, but it would be inappropriate to say such things.

Her eyes danced with light and he was struck with the urge to touch her again. To make sure she was actually here. When she averted her eyes seemingly blushing in the way only a horse can he gave into the urge. He laid copper and ice against the deepest black of her muscled neck and inhaled her unique scent. He could never forget it. He pulled back and caught her words before giving her a softer, more emotional smile. “You don't have to thank me, believe me the pleasure is all mine.” That was more than true. Of all the company he happened to come across during his time on the Islands she was a favorite.

He glanced around thinking of what to show her. He knew how much Atlantis differed from Tinuvel and he wanted to show her all of it. “Would you like to walk around? There's so much to see here.” Plus it would give him reason to walk side by side with an attractive young woman. Now that was an opportunity he could never pass up.
