The uninformed must improve their deficit, or die

The sunlight was thick and drowsy as it flowed upon the backs of wandering beasts. It brought lids to close over orbs drowsily, while said orbs glazed over as yawns escaped the maws of beasts. The heat licked over forms, bringing with it the need to sleep, to rest and bask in the warmth and to not raise their bodies and be productive, but enjoy the laziness of the day. Oh so tempting with the molted warm feeling that many beasts did succumb, proudly laying upon the ground and curling up to rest their frames and let sleep overtake them as the sun warmed their bodies. Some just dropped where they stood, while others stumbled and dizzily wove their way back to their homes to rest without fearing for their lives as predators that managed to escape the thrall of the warmth took advantage of this distraction. The wind was a lazy thing, bringing with it cooling winds but flowing so slowly and sleepily that it hardly made a difference to the land. There were few clouds in the sky, the ones that made a appearance small and rolling slowly so no chance was the sun going to be hidden and the spell broken. It was a futile attempt to wish for the heat to leave, for it was having fun putting beasts to sleep one by one, without remorse for what its actions would cause.

Even the shadows of the forest could not truly help the beasts of the land. The sunlight could not filter through, but the heat surely could. It slowly spanned out, creeping in through the cracks like dripping honey, touching beasts one by one. The first were the birds, they became drowsy and soon their constant chattering and singing drifted off as orbs closed and minds succumbed to sleep. Next were the small creatures such as squirrels and chipmunks who made their home in trees, dropping nuts to hang off branches as they rested. Then the warmth came to the forest ground where the rest of the small and medium sized creatures fell to the spell of the beautiful day. Only the largest of creatures, the bucks of the deer species, the equines, and the larger predators managed to escape the grasp of the heat and sleep but only just. Some did succumb, but most of them managed to shy away, to keep their crowns high and orbs alert for predators and for any sign that the heat would try some dirty tactic to bring them to their knees so slumber could reclaim their mind and body. Some shivered, walking deeper into the shadows of the forest, while other beings finally just gave into the thrall and slept, waiting for the time when they could awaken and finish their day before sleeping when the beauty and fearsome night came...

From the shadows a equine walked, a crown tilted high. Two small auds flicked, listening to the land with some weary amusement as one by one the beasts fell asleep. A silken forelock swept between said auds, casting itself down to hide one orb from view in a annoying manner. Thick lashes of onyx hue brushed against the equines cheeks softly, framing orbs of pure pale blue that glowed with some hidden emotion. Striking markings of ivory hue standing out against her face and orbs, enhancing the alertness shining in those windows of her soul. Pale lips pulled back slightly, showing whitened teeth and a pink tongue that slipped from her mouth to taste the air which was bereft of many smells. The slim neck was arched slightly, thick strands of gray tassels flowing down in twisted waves as it teased her heated body with sweat and grime. A lean frame moved forth, the petite figure almost giving the equine a innocent, delicate appearance even though it was far from the truth. Four slim pillars moved in perfect harmony, muscles flexing in the long limbs that made much of the equines height. The socks of ivory standing out proudly, clashing with the black markings on her shoulders. Cream daggers of small size sinking softly into the wet terrain. Sweat coated the gray grullo flesh, even appearing silver against the sunlight that managed to fall upon the sweatened equine. Wet, tangled strands of the equines plume flowed out behind her, silently trailing after the tall equine.

Said equine had to tilt her crown down as a low branch tried to knock her senseless. A smile flicked upon the mares lips, one that wasn't malicious but never did it mean well for whoever it was directed to. The strange equine paused, tilting her crown as she tried to pick up the sound of another equine but there was nothing but thick silence. A heavy sigh escaped the mares lips as she once more begin to traverse the forest and the rocky terrain that belonged to the Rainy Ridge. Her orbs peered around with fascination, for never before had she seen lands as these. The mare was more plain born and bred, used to long grasses and wide stretches of area with few, rare trees in between. This was a exotic land to the mare and it had attracted her real quick...that and its king. Not many moons ago, the young mare of questionable sanity had left the safety of her home and ventured into the unknown. There she stumbled upon a stallion more painted then she...and one thing led to another between the two due to a thick chemistry. She had left before he had awoken not because she was that type of mare because it had been something new to her. Yet ever since that night, she had not been the same. She...missed the stranger who she knew was called Hollowpoint and he owned a land but nothing else. So venturing free of the crossing, she had searched for the stallion and finally stumbled upon his lands.

Shifting, she glanced from side to side, wondering if this was the best idea. The foreign stallion could have forgotten about her...or he could be holding a grudge for her disappearance. Normall the cool, calm, and insane one this time the mare was on edge and worrying, much unlike the mare she had always been. It was fraying her nerves and that was far from being a good thing. Pausing in the shadows of a small opening, she took a deep breath and released it. Closing her orbs, she murmured riddles under her breath by the dozen but one stood out above the rest..Riddle me this : I can be scary or terrifying, I can be the sweetest thing you've ever seen, I can be anything you want me to be, what am I? she let it escape her lips and dance into the air...the same riddle she had spoken to Hollowpoint the night she met him. Alone, standing in the shadows the female rested wondering what her fate had come to.

I really didn't know how to explain how they met or anything so I took a random stab at it if you don't mind? If you want me to change anything I shall do so without hesitation. <3
