“Please, Father” Tristan said with an imploring smile, his large green eyes opened wide as he looked hopefully at Shaman’s King. The corner of Arthur’s mouth perked upwards slightly in a controlled smile of his own. “It’s a lovely day, we could go hunting. Please?” The King gave a good-natured sigh and reached out a hand, resting it upon his son’s shoulder. “Very well,” he agreed, with a nod of his head, “give me an hour, and ready the horses, I will be with you when I am done here.” Tristan beamed, “Thank you!” he enthused, before turning on his heal and disappearing off down the castle’s main corridor at a very rapid walk. Arthur stood watching him go for a few moments, chuckling lightly to himself before turning himself and walking through the double doors into the main hall beyond.

The sound of his boots striking the wooden floor seemed to echo in the large imposing room. A few of the widows were open and Arthur could hear the birdsong drifting in from outside as a light breeze caused the tapestries and banners that lined the walls to billow. The King climbed onto the raised platform upon which a long wooden table stood, and sunk down into his high-backed wooden chair. He lifted the small writing desk up from the floor and opened it with a creaking of hinges, pulling out his ink pot, quill, and some sheets of parchment he set about reading, andsigning some documents that Epos had given him the day before.

It was not until she spoke that Arthur realised that Lusi was there. The King raised his grey eyes slowly, his face forming a welcoming smile as he reached out for the piece of paper she held clutched between her fingers. “You may have it,” he continued, as he scanned the now-familiar form before him, “and I wish you luck.”
