Joined by Encantador despite the stallion’s apparent refusal to draw any nearer to the loose group of mares than he must, El Aran felt her confidence creep back in. Surely her partner would not be staring at the nearly identical mares if they were not there, or if he did not recognize him. But was it possible for there to be two Dany’s? Of course not. Telltale signs, little shifting movements of each of the tobiano mares solidified the seer’s certainty that only one of them was Dany. She was certain she knew which when her eyes met that of her sister.
"Blood of my blood," she acknowledged. And had Dany not caved in on herself in a sudden fit of anxiety or unsurety at that moment, the desert mare might have gone to her. Instead, El Aran’s ears flipped back in consternation and she watched as first one, then the other turned to walk away. It appeared Dany’s twin —a sister?— was pleading with her.
The seer turned her head and pushed her ears forward to look at Encantador, though she did not speak to him. Instead, she turned to deal with the matter at hand. Trotting forward, El Aran caught up with the two mares and planted her dull black body in front of Dany. "Stop," she commanded, tossing her chin up and pinning her ears. "What is going on? Who is this?" she asked, jerking her nose at Scylla. Her dark eyes never left Dany. "Why are you walking away from your family?"
