(( I thought it would be nice to get a little activity going :3 ))
It had been a good while since Ti had been almost to the point of no return. Her fur was looking healthy once more, her eyes bright and her wounds were healing. She was going to walk with a permanent limp on her left hind, the paw was useless, the tendons torn and ripped. Her left side ribs had new, vicious scars to add to the smaller ones that covered her. But she was recovering, finally, and it was all thanks to Saladin. If the blood and snow male hadn't graced Ti with his company, the elder would probably not be here, she'd have wasted away. His timely appearance had restored her faith in life and in his gender, it had brought her back from the brink.
Turning those mismatched eyes to the skies, the elder was in good spirits. She'd just discovered a partly buried deer, not in perfect condition but it still tasted delicious. Her hunger was sated, the sun was warm and the day was turning out to be a good one. Strolling through the undergrowth, Ti wasn't in any hurry to reach a particular destination. She just wanted to find someone. Since returning to Andere Seite many, many weeks ago, the only individual Ti had seen was Saladin. The border scents had been weak and activity seemed to be at an all time low. And that saddened the old girl.
Sighing softly to herself, Tjikiju watched the sun-touched trees as they waved softly with the wind. The birds were singing their happy songs in the branches and there was a soft, peaceful feeling to the area. Everything was touched by the sun's rays, but only here and there, creating dapples and stripes over the forest floor. It created a very picturesque scene, one of tranquillity and serenity. It caused a grin of delight to spread over the elder's face, her head raising and tail twitching as she took in the glory of her surroundings. It had been a while since she'd felt so damn good.
"Yna jjt alesri priti har wyc. Karika!" Ti's voice echoed in the quietness of the forest, soft tones broken by the hoarseness of age, though certainly not dulled by it. She took a moment, bathed in sunlight, to shake out her paws and coat. If a stranger had been watching, they would have laughed to see the elder, shaking her head and prancing about like a joyful puppy. Of course, she tired far sooner than any puppy, but she was still happy, a grin plastered across her wizened features.
Taking a moment to sit back on her haunches and catch her breath, Tjikiju gave a soft chuckle, amused by her own antics. But as she pondered over what others would think of it, she found her sudden gaiety fading, replaced by a sad truth. There was no-one around, nobody was here to see her revel in the sunshine. Why the pack had become so empty was beyond Ti, she'd had high hopes for Seline's reign, for hunts and tumbles, for laughter and friendship. But here she was, alone.
Picking herself back up, onto her paws, the gold-cream she-wolf took a more measured pace through the pack lands. She picked up a few scents here and there, but not once did she meet an actual living, thinking creature. So it was, that when she happened to come across the clearing that she'd come to her first day here, the old wolf found an idea forming in her mind. She was not the alpha, she was not even a high ranking animal, she was a mere Omega, like most others of the pack. But why couldn't she call a gathering?
Taking a moment to gather her strength, Tjikiju scrambled onto the alpha's rock, wincing with the effort of doing so. She wanted to know what was going on, she wondered where everyone was and why the place was so quiet. She wanted company, she wanted to see the wolves she'd come to love as family. More than anything, she wanted to see her blood and snow alpha, Seline, as well as the queen's puppies, who would no doubt be impressive youngsters by now. She wanted to have a smile, to greet others with a lick of the muzzle and a story of life.
Raising her snout into the sky, the elder let her song grace the winds, calling all pack wolves to the clearing. It wasn't a demand or an order, she was not ranked high enough to do so. No, it was an invitation, a warm, friendly welcome and a heartfelt plea for company. Letting the howl trail off into the warm air, Ti eased her frail body back off the rock, placing herself just beside it, in a comfortable little hollow. Her tail curled around her golden paws, she lay, ears perked and eyes alert to any sign of life. And there, she hoped desperately that someone would answer her call. Preferably someone she knew, but if it had to be anyone, it could be. A friend, a loyal packmate, even a stranger wishing to join. She just wanted to see some signs of life.
*This is what life should be like. Beautiful!
