Can't Be...
Those eyes.
Another sob seemed to creep up her throat, and she leaned back down to her son, and hid her face against his side. She knew he would not yet understand his mothers grief, and she was glad for that. She did not need someone else worrying after her. Pulling away, she slowly ran her eyes across his body, making sure everything was where it was suppose to be. No reason for his legs to be on his bum, she laughed in her head. Her teeth gently nibbled at the spot between his ears. He was a perfect little guy.
As she spent that little time grooming her son, her eyes had been on the lookout for others, when the black form came into view. "El Aran," She spoke softly to the mare, careful not to spook Stryke, though unknown to her he could not hear her words at all. Glancing from the Arabian ess and then to her newborn she quickly agreed. Nudging his little body closer to her, she moved toward El Aran. "Though i have not seen any sign of predators yet, i will follow you." She dipped her head to the lead mare, giving her proper respect.
Stepping alongside El Aran, she gave a quick glance to her side to make sure her colt was still keeping up. With her eyes trained on him, she spoke soft but quickly," his name is Stryke."
