Traydon River

This river is famously known for its fish!

As soon as he had entered these strange lands he had been drawn straight to this sound, the soothing bubbles and ripples made by the river drew him in like a fish caught on a line. And he had never seen so many fish in a river! Mismatched orbs stared into the river’s glassy surface in complete awe of the sight before him. It was such a simple thing, he really shouldn’t have been so distracted by it, but staring at all the pretty fish was much better than listening to all of the thoughts that were racing through his head. One thought in particular was not one that he wanted to hear.

You’ve gotten yourself lost again, haven’t you?

The mostly white pelted wolf’s face distorted into the most unsavoury scowl as he attempted to push the question back to the far off parts of his head, but alas it didn’t work, and the question repeated, again.

Yes, it was true, he’d gotten lost, something that he found he had a real talent for doing, but then again how could one get lost if they had no set destination in mind? Perhaps he would like this new territory. It was a lot nicer than the last one he had been in, that was for sure. Except that Aloïs had noticed some of the creatures he had passed on his way to the river had a funny habit of… well… staring at him. Not that this was unusual; creatures from the last territory had stared, too, he just couldn’t understand why.

Now, an important thing you should know about Aloïs was that there was absolutely nothing about him that made him stand out from a crowd. He was average height and rather scrawny, he had no distinguishing markings his fur mostly being white with a golden-sandstone colour on parts of his front and hind right paws, trailing from his hind left paw to the lower part of that leg and on half of his muzzle, which looked like it had been half dipped in a paint pot. Three of his four legs were wrapped crudely in torn bandages, they almost completely covered his front right leg, only his paw being visible and a torn ribbon of bandage trailing from the top, the mid-joints in both of his hind legs were also covered in bandages, on the right they were neat, but still dirty like the rest of them, but the left had ribbons of tattered bandages where they had been torn away by brambles. Aloïs’ nose was a pretty shade of rose pink, which wasn’t a very distinguishing feature, and his eyes were mismatched, the left being a piercing shade of lime green, the right a ruby red, the irises of his eyes seemed to be a little too small, which was a little odd.

No, Aloïs would never understand why others stared at him, maybe it was the bandages? If he took the bandages off then his scars would show. He didn’t want that, his scars were so ugly, and they made him want to rip and tear and shred… it couldn’t possibly be the bandages…
