Fayte trotted through the forest underbrush with graceful experience. She was beginning to learn her way around her new home and was rather enjoying the cool shade it offered. There were many trails to follow, pounded out by deer she suspected. The forest was a lovely place to call home. She was grateful to Bondurant for allowing her to continue here under his watch.
But still, things were rather quiet. He would be gone looking for others to add, she suspected, but it left her to her own devices. And there was only so long that exploring, even such a large home, could be entertaining. In fact, it was beginning to become, well, routine. And Fayte was not so fond of routine. In fact, routine made life dull.
She paused at one of the rivers. With Summer on the rise, the entire forest had sprung to life. Grass, trees and creatures all had come out of hiding. Fayte was glad to see it, but she still wished for some form of company in this world. She hadn’t seen Bondurant since their meeting under the willows. And as amusing as squirrels and birds were, they were not the same as having another equine to talk with.
