don't you worry

”I’ll.. Um… I’ll be fine.” She said, finally, as Nikola touched her. Her legs began to regain their strength. He spoke again and she wondered to herself why she would ever leave. She had no notion of ever stepping back into that ocean. Even if Nikola left her, she would wait always on the sandy shores of her new home.

Larka followed him past the shores and into the grassy hills. Still feeling a little flushed from the earlier touches, she focused on the ground. She didn’t want her eyes to give away her emotions. It just felt so right to curl up into him, and secretly she wanted so much more. It was obvious to her that she was beginning to feel something for him that she had never felt for anyone before; and perhaps he did too. He acted as though he did... but she wouldn’t bring it up, at least not yet.

Then Nikola began to tell her how long he had been at the ridge. Not to long; Larka thought, which would explain it’s emptiness. Then, something else hits her ears that made her stop in place. She spluttered and looked at him. It was obvious by his head shake and his snort that he was flushed too. Never before had the thought of children crossed her mind, but deep inside her she could see it with him. ”Oh… um…” Make light of it Larka, its obvious he didn’t mean it the way it came out. So, she quickly put on a kind of grin. ”Lucky for you, twins run in my family.” Thinking on this a moment she decided to expand, ”At least, I was a twin.” The black and white mare paused for a moment as memories rushed back into her mind. Yes, she had been a twin. Her copy was born still on the grassy plains of her home. It wasn’t source for much pain for her; seeing as how she had no real emotional ties the moment of her birth. But she would never forget her parent’s dismay.

She cleared her throat and looked up into his eyes. Slowly the little mare was coming out of her shell. A thing that she didn’t do for just anyone. This stallion was special though. Then the rain began to fall. Larka looked up into it, watching it come down. Her eyes came down from the skies and she looked toward Nikola. Wanting to feel him closer, she attempted to press her body against his, that is unless he moved away. The cool spring rain washed over the two of them. It was almost comforting to hear the soft pitter patter of drops falling into puddles formed by earlier storms. ”Never the less, thank you for bringing me here.” She murmured into him. Larka only hoped she hadn’t overstepped her bounds, and she shut her eyes, praying that he wouldn’t shy away.
