B O N D U R A N T He woke under the silent canopy, he had dozed only a short time he knew. The moon had traveled only a short distance, its crescent shape still above the tree tops casting a vague flow on everything below it. He glanced over to where Ragnfridr slept a short ways off. They were no traditional herd. They did not all gather in one tight knit group at night to sleep instead he let them choose where they wished to be that night and he chose a place equidistant between them for himself. As his heavy head swung the other direction where he expected Fayte to be he noticed her copper form amongst the trees. He snorted in surprise fighting the overreaction that threatened his system.
The Forest was no safe haven. Wolves were known to lurk amongst the trees and there were other lands close at hands with greedy men who would take what was not theirs. Taking one last look at Ragnfridr, the tawny girl could take care of herself no doubt, he set off after the blanketed mare to find out what had become of her.
With ease he wove in and out of the trees searching in the pale light for her. He came upon the river that flowed lazily through the area and followed it north picking up her scent. The river eventually led him to an open clearing, one of the few in the Forest, near the northern border. She had mentioned something about watching the stars, this would be as good a place as any to find her. male // andalusian mix // seventeen.one // seven // bay pintaloosa [Ee/Aa/TT/LPlp] // riley it is not violence that sets mens apart, it is the distance that he is prepared to go |
