The Rules
  • There will be no fraternizing with enemies. If you put yourself knowingly in danger, don't expect a rescue.
  • We are only as strong as our weakest link. See to it that you are getting stronger in some skill that is useful, whether it is battling, recruiting, charming, etc.
  • The King and Queen have final say in all matters.

Quinta is rather surprised that this lead mare has the need to ask the same question again. Why has she repeated her words? If Quinta had said that her mother and father were from the Hills wasn’t it obvious that was where she was from too? The bay filly refrains from rolling her sightless eyes or blowing out an impatient huff. She had to play this careful and remain in this mare’s good graces so that she was not left alone to fall prey to those that hunted these lands or the merciless sun.

Before she replies she hears the splash of the water as the mare steps into the pool to drink. Quinta steps forward too, her nostrils flaring as she drinks in the scent of the water as her tentative hooves take slow steps until she feels the cool liquid. It is both frightening and relieves but of course she would never dare to enter too far. Only enough so that it would be worth drinking and not the foamy stuff along the edges. Only once had she made that mistake.

“I am from the Hills and I came to be here because I was looking for my brother and got lost” Her answer is simple and to the point before she too lowers her head until her black velvet lips touch the water. A sigh of contentment escapes her as she begins to drink, closing her sightless eyes as she takes the water in. Through the heat and the strange shifting of the sands, Quinta had known that she was becoming hot but she hadn’t realized how hot she had gotten nor how dehydrated she had become since leaving the Hills. How much she wished to lie in the water and allow it too cool her whole body. Tempting as it was, Quinta didn’t know if there was a drop off or what else might be around her so she remained standing.
