 Herd life had come to Nikola fairly easy. He'd conquered a home (At what cost?), found his mares (Two of whom have been stolen..) and even had a few little ones running around. Yes, but one almost died. Recently his parents had returned to him, condescending and snarky in his mind since he'd lost two of his mares to a sneaky desert snake only a short swim away. As if he hadn't had enough to live up to living in their bayou, now the assholes were haunting him in his. With a loud snort to clear his thoughts, Nikola was down by the water and it's shallow beach watching the waves churn up pebbles and dark sand, a storm brewing up above. When the sprinkles of water came down he called for everyone left near the water, throwing his head towards the mountain. Everyone needed to spend more time up into the ridge itself anyway. There was a small clearing more available water and it would keep them safe.. It was his lack of direction that had allowed Vesti and Pierce to be plucked from his grasp. Yoor lack of manhood more like it! his father guffawed in his mind, the sound a wet guttural sound that sent a shiver down Nikola's spin. He was surprised to see the foals down on the beach without their mother. Calling to them in hopes to send them up with the rest of the herd, he was interrupted by Aliyana's frantic voice, calling his name. Ears pinned and muscles immediately bunched as he took off in full out run up the worn path and to the sound of her voice. Seeing her there, frightened and spread out over the walk way he slowed his gait and approached, keeping his panic at bay the best he could in the moment. "Cher, wat is da misere?" placing his nose close to her shoulder, inspecting her closely whilst his heart beat in the base of his throat.
