Nikola took his time coming to her. She paced herself to death on the beach in the humid air and hot sun. She had gone back to her frail figure, due to her rebellion against Badr. Too much longer over there and she would've died of dehydration in the heat. For a moment she had felt bad about leaving Vesti over there but back to her normal self, she couldn't care less about the other mare. It was Nikola's choice and he chose to bring Pierce home, not Vesti.
Finally the southern boy's form appeared and the bay stood stock still and waited for him to come to her. She could tell he was uneasy. Good, he should be.
"I give you hell, and you come and rescue me." she blurted out into his face.
Pierce didn't even think about lashing out, which was a first. Instead, the mare eyed the wound area she had previously inflicted on him. The chunk missing from his mane was still.. missing. Probably wouldn't grow back. She left her mark on him physically, but now it seemed like she also left a mark on his insides. She was genuinely confused on why he would ever want to rescue her.
