 He doesn’t know what to say. She has eyes that burn like the desert sun as she looks to him, scanning his face and finding the flaws, no doubt; seeing the way his skin had once been rubbed raw, where there was a patch of dark skin showing through his equally dark coat in the shape of an oval on his face, just to the right of where the edge of his lip was.
No one had ever asked him to tell them everything, and as he quietly reflects back, he realized it’s a relatively long story, and he’s not entirely sure where to start. His childhood had been respectively normal, with a mother that loved him and a father that was busy enough protecting his little band of mares that he never bothered with the flaxen haired stallion. Throughout the preceding years of his life, he had dabbled in the arts of fatherhood, bachelorhood, and now the life of being a herd stallion. Celebrating different walks of life, he imagines that there are several stories he could tell Rhaella… but he doesn’t know where to start. “I think it’s a long story.” He says quietly, cutting his eyes from the woman back to the girl, blinking as she inches closer, those bright eyes surveying the situation. Turning away from the mare for a moment, he locates a shady spot big enough for the two older horses, close enough to the water where the child can frolic without falling too far out of her mother’s watching eye. Lowering himself to the ground, the dried grass prickles his skin, but he still lies down on his side and motions to the spot near him where he assumes the mare will occupy a spot. “Where would you like me to start?” badr The misguided jailbird. stallion. flaxen liver chestnut. unknown crossbreed. ee aa ff. fifteen & three hands. eight years. russell. |
