Gelus smiled again at the wolf, tail gently wagging. Her smile widened at his response to her name. Most would have backed off by now, uninterested and slightly annoyed at the friendliness of the wolfess. It was nice to have someone to talk to here.

“Hello…Rex.” She tried the name out on her tongue, pleased with the way it sounded. It was a nice name, a normal name for a normal wolf. There was nothing unusual in his colouring, certainly, but his personality was one of charming ness, and politeness, the traits of somebody well off in life. She was surprised that he wasn’t royalty of some sort. Although, perhaps the lack of smugness and obnoxiousness should have been clues. She knew not all were like this, but the vast majority she had seen had some trace or other of these unpleasant traits.
“The pleasure is all mine! I’m mostly looking for food and such, since I haven’t been here for long. It is a rather complicated place!” She blinked her coal-black eyes at Rex.
“Now, what is your purpose of coming here? Do you usually come here?” She asked inquisitively. She had picked up the use of the name ‘ma’am’, and she wondered if this was the usual means of address. No matter how she looked at it, it was hard to imagine herself addressed as such. She didn’t really feel like one, at any rate. She panicked for a moment, trying to think of the male equivalent she could use with Rex, but couldn’t think of anything. ‘Mister’ didn’t have the same ring to it…so Rex it was.
