Rayne hauled himself up, however, as soon as he had, he felt a heavy lump crash down onto him, which caused his legs to go limp, and him to fall back down. Realising the lump was his sister, Brynn, he growled playfully and rolled over, hoping to squish her a little.

Smokey watched as the two pups played together. He laughed when Brynn leapt onto Rayne, but felt sad at the knowledge that their other brother, Kalamata, would never be able to play fight properly. He sighed, then suddenly remembered that Kala couldn't get across. Syndr could swim across with him, but that would mean the pup being submerged underwater for quite a while. Smokey, intending to be the hero, lifted himself up and over the river again, grabbed Kala by the scruff with his talons, and tried to fly back with the pup. He got half way, only, because he had only just started flying, and was quite weak, plummeted from the air and into the fast river, taking Kalamata with him.

Kalamata couldn't resist to watch Rayne and Brynn play together. His orbs narrowed, and he grunted, before going limp as his parent's little dragon lifted him up by the scruff. He glanced down into swirling river, and instantly felt sick. He wriggled in Smokey's grasp, the little dragon wobbled off balance, and plummeted into the river.

Syndr smiled as his mate came into view, with little Brynn trailing behind. He watched happily as Brynn jumped onto Rayne, and they started a play fight. His dark blue orbs narrowed as Smokey started to carry Kala across the river. Then it felt as if his heart stopped. He stood, frozen, as Smokey and Kalamata got carried away by Traydon River, struggling in its unforgiving currents.
