Not truly relevant to Carden Alvar, but my wife and I have just come back from a 10 day, 4,000km trip around Lakes Huron and Superior - to Kenora and back. In Michigan we passed 4 Sandhill Cranes feeding on the side of the road, broad daylight & less than 2 metres from the passing cars! they were the first my wife had ever seen [2nd or 3rd time for me] and she was fascinated by their size and beauty. An added bonus on an already beutiful drive! Replies: There have been no replies.
