The fire red mare had it in her remind that they had simply died for leading those they loved on. Make an empty promise and your sure to pay. Alexa was sick of it. Was every mare to be treated like this? bred and then dropped like a leaf? or simply abandoned?
Her brown eyes were rimmed with shedding tears, and her swollen sides heaved with each breath she took. That stallion Badr, had announced an open invitation to his home, and as quick as she could, traveled to the one place she'd ever feel safe, the dunes. The other mares were no where to be found, but did she care? No. She simply needed to get under the protection of someone with her current condition. Think for yourself before you think of others.
Her legs shook as she climbed the smallest of sand dunes, her energy to dull to even start on the more larger ones. When she feels the small brush of what is hardly even suitable to be called grass, she leans down, and almost snaps hungrily at it. It tasted bitter, nothing like what she was use to now, but she had once been raised on this before, and there wasn't any issue with her resorting to her old ways again. Lifting her head, her call sounded broken as sand clouded her, a breeze simply passing by. She closed her eyes for a while and rubbed her face against a foreleg, trying to rid herself of the gritty feeling. Hopefully Badr was around, because she was not one to wait, and if she were to be standing here any longer, she'd happily venture deeper into her old home.
