What if life were something meaningful?

This pale creature watched the two, her eyes wandering between them. She knew so little about him but, she knew nothing about this mare beyond a name. Vesti was a stranger but, she as a part of this herd. She was a piece of the puzzle here in the Dunes. One of the King's maidens just like Chimeras was. She had no clue that this creature was crazy unlike herself. She was full of energy and spirit. Chimeras knew she was pretty and at times, she was rather conceited about it. With Badr though, there had been a connection and, she'd been gentle. There had been so much curiosity and intrigue that, Chimeras had needed no reason for hostility or sarcasm. There had been none of that present and, there was nothing of the sort now.

Uncomfortable. This was the word from the sorrel's mouth. Well, it made sense really. She too appeared heavily pregnant. So; Chimeras had not been the only one. That was fine, she wasn't going to get her panties in a bunch over it. The king had a right to bring forth his off-spring into this world. Not that the Dunes was the perfect place for that, being hot and all. It was fine though, she was accustomed to the desert like places. This was what made her feel right at home to be honest. She had been born in a place much like this, further into the desert though. The Dunes were not so much different than the world she'd known as a child. That was all the past now though and, this was the present. The future was the only thing to look to now.

Yeah, that's my name. I'm the crazy one. Just going to throw that out there. This puzzled the mare a bit and, her brilliant pale eyes washed over the sorrel mare. This Vesti, she was an odd one for sure. Chimeras didn't quite understand it to be honest. It is a pleasure then Vesti, to meet you. She murmured, her pale lips pressed together again as her attention landed on Badr. She had felt the gentle bump of his nose to her flesh and, a soft breath of warmth left her lips toward him. It is his inquiry toward the fellow mare though that draws Chimeras' attention back upon Vesti. When did this happen, Vesti? Her brilliant gaze watches the sorrel curiously as she ponders a couple of things. Maybe she could make light of this conversation though and keep the tension to an all-time low? It was worth a try anyway.

So Vesti, were you born into the Islands? Meaning the Lost Islands of course. This was her home. She'd grown up on this very island actually. She had seen her fair share of horses coming and going. This was different though; there was something here that hadn't been in the past. This seemed real and, Chimeras felt safe here. She felt needed and that was far better than her boring life as a child. There had been nothing permanent there but, that was all changing now. She liked realizing that Badr was seemingly around to stay.
