There's a rainbow on this side of Heaven

Winter had indeed come and gone at last. Chimeras was used to these changes though. Perhaps they brought more warmth but, they brought more daylight hours to. The winter had brought darkness earlier and daylight later. Now though, it had switched completely. Darkness came later and their precious daylight hours, they came earlier. she liked the night but, she liked the day as well. Though to be honest, Chimeras really did enjoy the evening hours. There was silence and a much needed serenity to be quite truthful. What was more with the coming of spring, it meant foals were fast approaching. Her own included.

This had been the case and she'd felt the pains almost instantly. The time had come and she'd brought a lovely boy into the world. The golden boy had risen from the ground to nurse and then, he had glanced out over the world. His mother watching him with protective stares. This was her first child, a child with the stallion she seemed to care about. No, she did care about Badr, that is something that wasn't changing. Did he realize that she may even love him? Perhaps but, only time would tell as it always did in the long run.

Having sensed his approach, the pale creature shifts her weight and brings her chiseled nose around. Those fine lines of her features seem to dance in the early morning light as she shifts her weight again and bumps Brulee's shoulder lightly with her whiskery nose. As his father comes near and gently bumps his nose against her shoulder, a gentle nicker leaves those soft lips. A handsome son, Chimeras. What name did you pick for him? Clearing her throat gently, she nudges the boy before his father. He stumbles a little and round; expressive grey-blue eyes look up at the stallion. Brulee. The name dances lightly and rather effortlessly from her lips. A name she's become familiar with all ready.

The boy glanced at his mother upon hearing that name again, ears flicking back and forth a little. Soon though; curiosity won him over. His father in his sight again, the boy stepped a little closer. His muzzle turned up so that he could inhale the stallion's scent. This is your father Brulee. He glanced back at his mother briefly, unsure of her words exactly. A couple of them were made out but right now, they still held little meaning. This was all new to him of course. In time though, the golden boy would learn the ways of the world and the words along with it. Prancing in place a moment, he stumbled carefully around his father then. It is a moment that he peeks around the stallion's right hip with a goofy expression on his face. It is seconds that he comes back before him and gently bumps his smaller nose against his sire's chest. Da'. It is merely a word but, it is a start. Perhaps the stallion would understand what he meant by it, that he was trying his words out. Not that it was a good start but, he'd get it over time. He has a sibling doesn't he Badr? She was sure she had not imagined the other mare having been heavily pregnant. How had that birth gone though, well she hoped.
