Carden Alvar Nature Board by Bob BowlesShrike, buntings

On Wylie Road this morning just south of the barn, a shrike perched for a while in a hawthorn before flying down into the grass and then over to Windmill Ranch. A flock of about 16 snow buntings seem to be hanging around the parking lot at the bird blind -- saw them there twice. And a northern harrier flew up from a rock in the pasture across from the cabin. Nice day!
