VIVIANNA

Vivianna had traveled a long ways to return home, or what she considered home. No longer did her father, nor mother and sister live here but the Islands had called to her and finally she had gave to its will and returned. Delicate legs dragged her two tone body from the water, carrying her across the sands and to the soft grasses of spring. Blue eyes bright with interest, the beautiful girl didn’t bother to shake away the water that slicked her mane to her neck and dripped from her tail. Instead she would allow the warm rays of the mid sun to dry it away, and so she again carried on away from the shoreline.


The soft wind that tickled her velvety black nose carried the scent of trees and grass and other things of notice, including the scent of a stallion. The young mare wondered if he was handsome, a prince of this land she knew to be Luthien. Though she had been barely old enough to swim when she had been lead away, the stories she heard of her birth place was enough to give her knowledge of her location. Was this her father’s previous land, the Thicket her mother had called it? Nevertheless, he was no longer here and so it was her decision now to live where she wished.


As she carried on her way, Vivianna noticed how the trees began to grow much thicker. Their branches sweeping overhead and the leaves that normally lent just enough to give shade was beginning to block out the sun completely. It made a shiver skate up her back along her wet hide but not from fear although many would think of this place as scary. Instead it was from excitement, the rush of not knowing what all this land had to hold. Maybe the brute who ruled it would come out from hiding so that she may inspect him? She could only hope as she continued on down the trail that lead through the heart of the Frightful Forest.
