Very interesting...how big is a 6 mo. old M.L.? Did the woman take her dog to the vet? Even if it was up on it's Rabies shots it is recommended they go and receive a booster after having been in an altercation with wild animals.I know this b/c my dog messed with a groundhog this summer and that's what my vet told me we should do.Also, if it were my dog that I loved I would want it on antibiotics to make sure it didn't get an infection from the bite.If so, I would wonder if the vet could tell if it was a canine (coyote, wolf)bite versus feline? And at about 6 months old wouldn't it already be bigger than a coyote, wolf or another dog's bite? At what age do juvenile M.L. leave their mothers? I'm also wondering if it lost it's mother earlier than is the norm (hit by car? eaten by a bear or bigfoot?!a little humor there!)perhaps it didn't have it's hunting techniques down yet and didn't really have the fear not to go after 3 dogs - thinking how some young humans don't have the fear they should in certain situations....just exploring some thoughts because I don't know anywhere near what you all appear to!Or...perhaps it really did have Rabies... At any rate I definately believe the woman.I hope if I were ever in that situation though I would get a little more proof to back up my story.Names of officers, pics of dogs and cat.But in the excitment of the moment it's certainly understandable.
