-Strong as stone, but i still crack-

Could it be the summer heat that sent this mare home? along with the small black shape stuck to her hip like a burr. Could it be the silent calling of her old Stallion. Her hopes were high even if her heart was and would always be crushed. The only thing she had to go on for now was the young colt at her side, his brown orbs occasionally glancing up at his mother's right eye, her blind side, which he gladly helped her out with. He would give her a nudge here and there if she needed it. Young Navair loved his mother with a passion.

Another small bump to the tall mare's shoulder had her moving onto more even ground. She could have toppled over if it wasn't for her son's observant eyes and will to help. If our Italian lady here would perk up, then she could have easily taken care of herself, but there was still no light in her eyes or even a smile, just a nod and a quick brushing of muzzles against each other. They had a strange relationship because of this, but the colt would never tire of it, he'd see his mother through until the end. Only then would he ever leave her side.

"Look mama," his voice had Pierina quickly picking her head up from its lowered position as she walked. When she stopped, her dark boy did too, ears flattened against something he did not like. Unlike her son, the pale lady enjoyed the company of others, but this group had somehow caught her attention in a strange way. Was it the sight of another foal? or could it be the all to familiar painted lady next to it. The cool wind around her confirmed her thoughts, and she set off at a steady trot as she neared them. Navair gave a squeal at her, in hopes of gaining her attention and continuing on away from the other horses, but no, his mother merely gave a snap of her white tail. He trudged on after her.

"Ava," her voice was like a broken whisper, and she hoped the younger girl recognized her, since Pierina was practically throwing herself at the painted girl now. She did not care for anyone else around them, not even the presence of the stallion not to far away. Navair eyed his mum with wide eyes, and attempted to venture closer but of course the sight and smell of a larger brute had him tucking up against his mother's side, ears down. He did briefly glance toward the other foal, and if not for the white marking the other colt's coat, they could have been twins, but they were not far off, simply half brothers some could say.

"I thought you were gone," Navair glanced up at his mother as she spoke again, her accented voice a calming tone to his ears which quickly flicked forward at the hidden sadness laced in with each word. He wondered how some strange lady could change his mother's non emotional side.
