i never thought you would go away

Her brother did not come, but Jay swung her head around to stare at the newcomer. The mare had the same coat color as her, except that she wasn't greyed out. Instead her coat was smoky grullo, which seemed to have tan mixed into the grey. After a moment, the Thoroughbred reached out her neck to exchange breathes. Drawing back again, she wondered why the mare would even answer her call, especially if she had been calling out for her brother. Flicking an ear to a bird that chirped nearby, she answered. "Brother. I'm looking for Brother." Her brother never had a name, none that she knew of at least.

She noticed that the mare was very mature at her young age, perhaps just stepping out of her yearling stage. She was polite and patient, which Jay was glad for. If her brother was living in this forest, was this his child? Flaring her nostrils, Jay caught the scent of a stallion. He came into the clearing, giving the mare next to him a loving look. She guessed they must be attached, since he only nodded at her and ordered for her name and reason for being there. Jay took a step back, surprised at the fact that he was indeed younger then her, but he seemed to be out of place. Or was this the custom here? Jay repeated herself, keeping her name to herself. "I'm looking for Brother. My brother. Would you please go find him and tell him that his sister is waiting?"

Arching her neck and flagging her tail a little, she waiting for her brother's (most likely) children to obey her and find him.
