He follows placidly, tail swinging behind him. "Briar," he repeats under his breath, and searches through his brain. There is the older mare that has been hanging around, fine-boned and dark with white markings on her face and legs, but she is so flighty and secretive that Solgar hasn't had a chance to have a single proper conversation with her. Still... he remembers hearing a similar name murmured on the lips of the other mares.
Solgar frowns. "Maybe," he says simply, but offers no further information. If she wants to know, she will ask. Still, he cannot help but wonder what Earthshine's connection to this 'Briar' is. Are they relatives, possibly? Or old friends? As they stroll along the shore, his dark eyes search the shadows of the passing trees for the striking white markings of this mysterious mare, as if expecting her to pop out unexpectedly at any moment.
No such thing happens, of course.
Eventually they come to a bluff on the far edge of the territory which juts into the grey sky and overlooks the churning water below like the prow of a giant ship. He eyes the landmass uncertainly. While he's seen the bluff from a distance plenty of times, he has never thought to explore it, and he is surprised when Earthshine disappears into a previously unnoticed cavern gaping like a dark, shadowy wound in the side of the rocky cliff.
He follows her in uneasily, blinking in the darkness and struggling to find her silhouette as his hooves clack noisily on the stony ground. The crashing of the waves outside echoes off the walls, creating the strange sensation that the ocean is all around them. "I didn't know about this place," he comments, lost for anything else to say.
Why did she bring me here, exactly?
