From a summers thread

Her temper like wind the ripped the snow drifts to fro around the inlet raged through her body. Winters limps trembled slightly from the annoyance welling up from her hooves. The golden mare had been waiting quite patiently for the other silly girls to find the time to answer her call but as the sun dipped down so did her calm. Her mind was so busy lately that the slightest thing would set her off. Her hooves stomped down the snow as she paced with pinned ears. To Winter this was quite a waste of time. She had things she needed to get squared away before the young life growing in her womb made an appearance in the icy world. The lightly golden mare had paled with the change in the season her normally vibrant gold coat now pale ghostly sand and the bitter winds lengthening the strands. Winter chuckled, the ice and snow would cling to her legs and underbelly giving her and yeti mare appearance.

Crunching in the nearby snow drew her attention to the patched mare making her way towards the golden mare. A scowl claimed her face and blue eyes as cold as the sea let the stranger know her mood was not inviting. “Who the hell are you?” Winter’s creamy tail flicked against her legs in a silent warning. She didn’t have the time to deal with strangers at the moment as this girl didn’t smell of the inlet to her. Ears pinned back and her large frame tensed. Maybe she is one of the lost ones, although that didn’t change her mind of the lady before her. Her carriage irritated the snow mare, well that wasn’t new everything about other horses bothered her. Winter opened her mouth to speak but the sounds of another snapped her maw shut.

The sight of the roan caused the pally girl to cock and eyebrow, she had been aware of the goings on around the meadow and she was surprised to see her making an appearance away from the other dastardly roan. She grunted in response to her words her nerves eating away at any manners she may have had before calling the girls to her. Winter picked up her head and glanced around them searching for the other patchy girl and black colt. She gave a horsey growl as her fuse was burned up. She had no more time to wait around. “Where is the other one?” She waited a split second for a response before carrying on. Winter shifted in the snow her limbs a bit stiff from standing around, and glared around her. “Look, I want the title as just that.” She gave the roan a pointed look “The stallion normally attached to it is just a sploodge warmer for me so don’t think that is what im after.” She flicked her tail once more her distaste for this whole thing clearly written on her bone white face. “How do you ladies, wish to settle this.”

Winter didn’t lessen the harshness of her stare as she waited for a response. She had, had time to think about her reasons for wanting the title and once she had settled on something she wanted she would not slip away from her without a fight. And fight she would if it came to such measures. Guilt of the thought and the impact it could have on her foal tighten the muscles in her belly slightly. She frowns slightly but hardens her resolve. If I have to I will.
