I was in Easthampton for Xmas and a relative was showing off a cell phone pic of a bobcat his neighbor took in their backyard. My other uncle called it a mountain lion. I tried to educate him on this and his response was "bobcat, mountain lion, same thing".

Just goes to show that some of the sightings in this area may have been mistaken identifications by people that don't know the difference between the two cats.
