Bitter as the Nettle

So many things had been racing though his mind lately he had almost forgotten about the young filly he had brought home not to long ago. Sato had been eager for her to meet his mother and whether or not that had happened yet he was unsure. His golden ears flicked back and forth in thought. In fact he hadnt seen much of the dun since their arrival to the Dunes. He had worried that maybe some relative had come to fetch her or that she had left on her own accord but her scent about the territory never faded which told him of her presence. The sabino stallion had recently returned to his home after another visit to the dunes with two new faces for the herd to meet as soon as they made an appearance. The lack of communication and familiarity in his herd saddened the man, he had hoped that they could become a family. It was something he had often dreamed about as a young colt seeing as he was never given the privilege of one.

Sato had been lounging under the shade of one of the trees found farther into the territory, quietly napping. His soft bottom lip hung slightly ajar and yes he was admittedly drooling a little bit. The sun felt so nice where it filtered in through the thin leaves of the tree, warming his cool back. His time in the snow had been enough for him this season. The gold was surprised he hadnt gotten sick with all his comings and goings. his ears flicked back and forth lazily listening for any sounds besides his own breathing and the gentle breeze that blew through the sand. Where has Mam disappeared to. I was certain she was here when I left. He was drifting in and out of dreamland when the soft call of a mare brought his lookers wide open. He knew it wasnt the noise of El Cardo but it could have been any of his mares seeing as he hardly knew them. Again the thought brought a frown to his face. Sato snorted and shook himself awake before letting his instincts guide him towards the caller.

Seeing the dun form of the filly was to say the least a surprise. He had not been expecting to see her ever again. The young girls appearance brought a smile to his bone face nevertheless and he called back to her on the offbeat of picking up his pace to canter towards her. Sato was quite excited to have someone to talk to for once and of all his mares Sterling was the friendliest of faces. The sabino and the dun were of the same age even if he was fully matured and she still had some growing to do he still felt affectionate towards her. He frosty blue eyes twinkled as he touched his nose to her shoulder in greeting. "My my my look at that you have less bone showing than I have now." The golden stallion moved around to face her a smile softening the planes of his face. "I am happy to see you Sterling, are you faring well?"
