GUIDELINES

- the Prairie stands as a symbol of peace and prosperity among the islands
- anyone is welcome to live here so long as they do not bring harm to the Prairie or any of it's residents
- adventure and exploration is not only allowed, but encouraged! residents are asked to use their better judgement and not travel to places that could bring them harm
- the head of the prairie has final say in all prairie matters. the secondary and third positions are not able to be challenged for and are selected by the head
- the guardians take on a more active role in the prairie; they must protect the inhabitants of the prairie and go on patrols of the prairie borderlines and shore. they can welcome strangers to the prairie and invite anyone to live here, though they must inform one of the leaders of any newcomers or visitors
WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?

left with no reason
we come undone
Boomslang’s eyes returned to the Pantera as silence fell between them, and he pushed his ears back in quiet alarm to see how tense she had become. Her ears were pinned and he swung his body away from her, wary of her teeth, as he observed the tightness in her neck. Had he offended her to the point where she would lash out at him, physically? The sudden snort combined with the obvious effort on her part to ease her body into something more relaxed gave him his answer, and Boomslang took a step closer to the mare to prove he had not moved for any reason other than to protect himself from a potential outburst. He didn’t know Pantera beyond what he’d learned today, and more often than not he’d been on the receiving end of tantrums and uncontrolled rages alike.

She spoke, as if her tongue was heavy and her mouth too numb to form the words, or as if her entire body was exhausted. How she had gone from being a bright and chipper companion to this astonished Boomslang. What internal battle had he set off, to bring her down to a state where the very act of speaking took so much energy that it became too difficult for the mare to even keep her head up. His perception of the situation was admittedly one-sided, but he felt his concern for the vibrant chestnut was warranted.

“You all right?” he asked, dropping his nose down by hers. “Didn’t know you were dealin’ with somethin’ like that. Sorry for pushin’ you. But hey, don’t you feel better? Just a little bit?” He tried for a chuckle but the laugh fell flat, and he raised his head to glance around the area. Before, he had been merely observing his home, but with Pantera in her current state he was concerned about predators. He hadn’t seen or smelled any mountain cats since he came here, but that didn’t mean they didn’t exist. He looked at the mare again. “Wanna talk about it?” he asked, his ears alert atop his head.
