"The crude mortality of man."

Beschea
Vercingetorix
"All men are mortal."

What had he to say to the strange girl that had wandered into his home? He does not suppose that she will wander off into the belly of the forest and start fires that could not be extinguished by himself alone, and he does not suppose that the woman of small stature would be of any sort of threat to his mares and their newborns. With somewhat distrustful eyes, the stallion watches her quietly, seeing how she shifts her weight. Vercingetorix can only think that she has grown bored of him and is already itching to explore and to throw herself into the din of the mares of the forest, and for this he is almost thankful, almost.

His pride is what makes him recline his head only a bit, stepping slightly to the side as he offers her access to the rest of the forest in what can only be a dismissal. The trees that grow behind him at tall and old, and as much as the creaking and the moaning in the trees is enough to concern him and make him want to disappear into the leaves forever, he has found a fascination in them. There are voices that it seems only he can hear, and there are things that only he has had the pleasure to see. With every rise of the sun, the stallion finds himself standing in a new spot to watch, waiting for the sky to explode from black to reds and oranges, finally dying away to the softest of blues that was only interrupted by clouds here and there.

So he is not discouraged by the girl that looks to want to wander throughout the trees and see what the forest has to offer. Vercingetorix can only think that Dresden will stumble across the other mares and find a place to stay. “No...” His voice trails off softly at her question, his dark eyes scanning her face for only a moment longer before stepping aside again, ready to disappear into the trees and continue his business. “Explore all you like, Dresden.” He says in a form of a farewell before turning to the trees and walking away.
