give nothing back

During their brief chat in the falls, he had judged the bay girl as strong of character, that she had yielded neither spirit nor body to the men of the Lagoon. It is only now, glimpsing a brief flicker of shadow that stirs in her critical eye, that the palomino stallion senses the shrewd mind beneath her languid motion superficial words. Before he has time to reflect on this, however, Fatale is looking back at him coquettishly, and he half expects to see her bat her eyelashes as she asks him for a tour.

Stiffening at the sultry timbre beneath Fatale's tone, Rade's features twist into a brief scowl as he is reminded of the day he had met that wretched woman Arito, and the electric force that had inexplicably bound them. He has no intention of allowing another female to gain such control over him. Indulging himself in a moment of memory, Rade recalls the last time he had seen Arito in the Falls, and the thunderous expression that had twisted the beauty of her face into a mask of passionate hatred. When they had previously sparred in the meadow, Arito had emerged victorious, and it had been fulfilling to turn the tables on the painted mare, to wrest control of the relationship that balanced so precariously on a razor's edge. Rade is confident enough that he can manage the same with Fatale, but for the moment he would submit to her game. Such minor victories counted for little; in the end, she would overplay her hand.

Passing the crimson female in a flowing gait, Rade calls over his own shoulder in a husky voice that complements the warm honey of his roaned coat.

“I will show you around if that is your desire, but Paradise is fairly new to me as well. Perhaps we can explore its secrets together?”

A wistful smile is permitted to curve his lips upward, and even to add warmth to his normally-cold amber gaze. It is as close as he will come to an attempt to seduce her; as far as Rade is concerned, she is Styrke's, though it does not appear that Fatale feels the same way. It speaks very poorly of the woman that she would so readily discard the man who had fought against the odds for her, but he does not express this openly. It is up to his brother, should Styrke return, to pass judgment on the woman - and to decide whether or not she was worthy of his attention.
