love is a doing word.

Yscha had never really been a rambunctious child herself. She'd always had an air of good-natured dignity about her, which her mother had passed down with ease. She was not one to engage in child's play often. Not because she thought she was above such foolish behavior - oh no, she definitely was not, she did enjoy the occasional romp as a youngling - but because it just wasn't as appealing to her as it was to the other children her age. Even now, as an adult, she retained her regal demeanor, though it was a bit less obvious now that her mother was long gone, no longer there to reinforce her values onto her dappled daughter.

Of course, Yscha planned on raising her son differently than her mother had raised her, than some other mares raised their children. In her short four years of live, the grey mare had seen many a mother forcing their children to be the way they, the parents, wanted them to be. It was such a shame, she often thought, that one would do that to their own child. A child needed to grow and learn and develop his own thoughts and opinions, his own personality - at least, that's what Yscha believed. She would let her son grow up at his own pace, instead of forcing him to abandon his childhood prematurely. It was better that way.

Yscha blinks out of her thoughts, ears twirling forward to catch her king's words. She shakes her head at his statement. "No," she says simply, her eyes wandering back to his face, "I would prefer not to be. They are too busy squabbling over who should be lead mare, and frankly, I would rather not be a part of such foolish bickering." She snorts indignantly, tossing her head slightly. "In all honesty, I don't think any of them really, ah... what am I trying to say? Know what they're getting into, I suppose." She shrugs, her weight shifting slightly to one side, a back hoof cocking in tranquility. Oskar has settled at her hooves, nestling into the soft spring grasses there.

"What is your opinion on the issue?" she asks, tilting her head in his direction. "I'm curious to know. If you're willing to tell, of course." She knows some prefer not to talk of politics when it could be avoided, and while Yscha was usually one of them, she was genuinely curious to know what could be on that mind of his.
