i refuse to sink

Lack of words, it is a very hard burden on her. Co watches her brother play, as mute as ever. Even when their other sister, Christalily appears, the bay filly remains still even at the painted girls touch. Why should she bother to make friends? She could not voice her joy, her amusement, her grief. Nothing. Flicking her ears forward she listens to her sis speak, words that seemed so sweet so smooth. That was something she'd never have, a voice of her own. Lowering her head with a sigh, she nibbles at the grasses sprouting around the large pine. She tuned the pair out.

When the colt in the water had turned to send a splash of water his twins way, the form of their other sister had caught his eye and he had deemed her his new target. The painted filly was more brightly colored than him and Costello, but he could change that with a heartbeat. His eyes glanced down at the muddy bank, caused by his tiny hooves and the water he was in. He had an idea.

"a fish you say?" he tilts his head slightly at the word. " What be a fish? I am simply a water horse." He stands proudly tossing his head high, even though water drenched his black coated body. "How bout you join Lily? since i am a water horse, you can become a mud horse." Turning, he gave a small buck, allowing his back hooves to drag through the wet dirt below and kick it up. Hopefully it landed on the painted filly. He was not so fond of such a painted creature in a world so dark as his.

Even though she had tuned them out, Co had looked up at the moment her brother sent the mud flying their way, and with flattened ears she moves away from the tree and Lilly. She was not going to involve herself in her twins stupid tricks again. She took up her own perch again far from the stream to avoid any more messy scenes, but it seems she would not get peace as of yet. Another foal has joined them, one of buckskin coloring. He was polite as ever and was nice. Something Abbott would never be.

Thinking of his words, Co could briefly remember a place that seemed like a thicket not to far off. Scratching a hoof at the ground, she nodded at the boy. She hoped he got what she meant, for words were useless here with her. Her and her twin knew about a thicket, from where they had played by the border one day. Glancing over her shoulder, it seemed Abbott could have cared less of the new guy. For once she was glad to have some alone time.
