LET'S GET THIS STARTED GIRL, VETERAN SOLDIER

We're gonna show the world
That something good can work.

The sun beamed down on the rolling orange tinted sand dunes. Hot yet comfortable sand gave way beneath Fairuza's light steps. It had been a long walk from the meadow to the dunes, but it had been a relaxing one as well. The heat here was pleasant and Fairuza did not sweat due to this heat being dry and not humid and moist. She smiled and looked around the desolate barren land, a quiet empire of rippling sand, she heard it hiss as the slight breeze took the very top layer of sand away. She felt like a princess, being the "Old Fart King's" new companion. She liked him a lot, even though she hardly knew him. Something about him, maybe his gruff humor, or his gentleman like ways, made her feel at home around him. Plus, he was a king of this large allotment of land. This made her smile, the stallion she took up residence and companionship with, is king. She had never knew that there was such thing as kings, only in the fictional tales her mother had told her about. So this was a big deal to our striking grey girl.

Fairuza let her muzzle down to the ground, lightly rubbing it over the sand, feeling its fine grittiness against her pink skin, its warmth making her smile brightly. Soon she brought herself to her knees and landed with a soft thud onto the soft sand. She buried her muzzle into the sand and flicked it up, then flopping to her side, she began to roll, laughing softly as the sand flew through the air, landing on her belly, tickling her with warmth. What a great place! she thought to herself as she heaved herself up to a sitting position, then stood to shake the sand from her body. After a good shake she took in a deep breath and sighed happily, though she wondered where Veteran might be. She looked about, dark eyes glittering in the desert sun. She wondered if she called out for him if he would come find her, though this was a large area, she wondered if she wouldn't be able to locate the bay paint. Fairuza let out a loud call, its tone sweet but a sense of worry might have been evident. She hoped that call would do the trick. She was a bit worried about not being able to find him, but she thought to herself. He seemed to fancy me...and said he would take good care of me, so I bet he is already on the look out for me! I hope... She tried to put her worries aside and keep her head up. This was to be her new home, and she would have Veteran to keep her company. She was going to like it here...
