At Leisure Lake the sun is always shining and only a few stray clouds roam the open sky; paradise is the one word that really describes it. This beautiful lake is clean and refreshing, the very best place to swim and fish. Pups are known to play here while older wolves watch at the side, engaged in their own activities.

Hellene plopped herself upon the ground, twisting her body backward to allow her muzzle access to one of the knots in her coat. Her deadly canines worked surprisingly softly on her russet and grey coat, her pink tongue aiding in the process, until the knot released itself. Her sister, Athene, had dragged Hellene all over Blossom Forest, without break. And while Athene somehow was able to keep her coat in good form, clean and silky, Hellene’s own coat seemed to have a life of its own, tangling itself and picking up everything from dirt to small twigs. She looked like a woodland monster. “Damn Athene. Doesn’t understand that I need time to groom daily. Nooooo she has to be Miss Perfect, always prim and proper. Not everyone can be like her!

A cold breeze filters its way through the trees, bringing the scent of a fresh breeze. The fae’s amber orbs glance around. “This… looks… familiar…” Hellene’s russet plume thumps on the ground, setting a rhythm as her mind works. Why did this place look familiar? The fae licks her lips, realizing how parched she was. This action stimulates her brain, and a lightbulb goes on. “Oh right! This is right near the lake… Athene and I rested here.” Hellene glances back at her coat, and sighed at its grungy look. A mischievous look slowly makes its way upon her maw.

Sinking close to the ground, the fae creeps forward and exits the wood, her paws shifting the pebbles and gravel that surround the lake’s edge. Her eyes scan the region, looking for any other lupines. Seeing none close to her, the fae straightens her bodice and leans back onto her haunches before launching herself forward. The fae leaps into the cold water, a chill running through her veins, both from the frigid water and from the excitement of being able to act like a pup for once. Though an adult, she still had childish urges every now and then.

The waves created by her splashing comb through her coat, loosening the soil and releasing the twigs that had been held. She dived under, rubbing the harsh silt of the ground against her, softening her hairs. Exploding from the water’s surface, Hellene breaths in deeply, and smiles. It felt surprisingly good to be away from her sister. They were never separated… perhaps they were too attached. How could they make Blossom Forest their new home if they didn’t make any new friends? Hellene’s limbs powered her back to shore. Upon exiting, the fae shook, sending water droplets flying to her immediate surroundings. Feeling a bit lonely, her amber orbs scan the shore once more, this time looking for attention.
