She smiled in return at the girl, happy to see a smile on that pretty face. It hurt Genisys to look in those pained eyes and all she wanted to do was help. She had felt sympathy for the girl but she was too afraid that she would be tired of all the sympathy so Genisys simply smiled and nodded as the girl stretched. She started at a slow walk, one that allowed to think of where to begin her story. Silence fell between them for a while but it was a comfortable silence, one that Genisys appreciated.
“I was born in a pack with a twin, a brother of the name Exodus.” It was the first time she had said her brother’s name out loud. Her eyes watered slightly and she blinked quickly, the ache in her heart refused to fade tough. “We were yin and yang, him and I. Two peas in a pod. We had grown up together, as happy as can be with our mother and the father.” A small smile slid on to her pale kissers at the memory but it faded quickly. “When we had come of age, my father, had tried to seduce me. I was terrified and I made a terrible mistake.” Her usually clear voice shook and she closed her eyes, pausing in her steps for a moment to glance at Aurora. “Exodus heard my cries and came charging in, attacking my father. He was so much more smaller than him and,” The tears threatened to spill and Genisys turned away, smiling sadly. “I had ran out to get my mother. She raced in and I heard so many noises. I was just so scared. I ran, never looking back and I haven’t seen my dear brother since.”
Her eyes cleared and she turned that sad smile to the girl, stopping in their walk. “The good thing is that we both survived and we are okay.” It was true, she was lucky to be alive and have the life she had.
