and then suddenly she was alone

she doesn't want to leave her brother, or the bush for that matter. She can see the way the stallion looks to the herd and then back to her. She expects him to quickly dismiss her again and go after the more 'talkative ladies'. She wouldn't care and would surely not follow after him. Her and her brother were the outcasts and that was how it was going to stay. He surprises her though when he does stay and his attention is on her. Now she straightens up a little instead of leaning her weight to one side as if he were merely wasting her time. He steps closer, and she steps back an uneasy snort escaping her nostrils, as her hips disappear into the bushes. She could easily blend back in with the Forest, but she holds ground, eyes trained on the brute.

She tilts her face to the side, eyes moving away now when his seem to catch hers. She doesn't want to look, her eyes would give away her nervousness despite the fact she was holding up fairly well. One ear flicks toward him while the other leans back into her mane. She was keeping an ear out for both her brother and if the stallion dare try to move to her again. His words mean nothing to her, but they do strike a nerve. Her head snaps back around to glare at him and now both ears are lost in her dark locks. So now he cares? If it wasn't for her sick brother, she'd have struck out at the stupid brute. He had ignored them for so long so what gave him the right to oh so suddenly care? Her lips curl into a sneer at that. She was glad she had no voice, for she'd had let everyone hear her displeasure with this so called 'leader'.

but still, it was slowly becoming clear to her that he was at least trying to care. Turning swiftly away from him with a huff, she returns to the bushes, stopping once to motion with a jerk of her head for him to follow. The thick underbrush is easy for her to maneuver in, and she comes to the tiny clearing quicker than the dun. She spies her bother still asleep, nestled in the crook of roots by a large pine. She approaches carefully, and nudges his body. He was still breathing which was a good sign, but as she looked over his sides she could see the small tremors that raked him, coughs he was keeping quiet. At least he doesn't wake and she pulls away to stare upon the stallion behind her.

She hopes he is satisfied to know the condition of the foal he'd plainly despised. Her eyes narrow as she waits for his next move, and angles herself between the two, cutting off all vision of her twin.
