GUIDELINES

- the Prairie stands as a symbol of peace and prosperity among the islands
- anyone is welcome to live here so long as they do not bring harm to the Prairie or any of it's residents
- adventure and exploration is not only allowed, but encouraged! residents are asked to use their better judgement and not travel to places that could bring them harm
- the head of the prairie has final say in all prairie matters. the secondary and third positions are not able to be challenged for and are selected by the head
- the guardians take on a more active role in the prairie; they must protect the inhabitants of the prairie and go on patrols of the prairie borderlines and shore. they can welcome strangers to the prairie and invite anyone to live here, though they must inform one of the leaders of any newcomers or visitors
the world is on my side

The apparent lack of population did not bother the flashy dun. He fared just as well with or without company, though there were times when he favored one situation over another. Perhaps, with time and more socialization he would learn to seek out others for their companionship. For the moment, though, he was feeling rather neutral. Having just had his swimming adventure, he was happy to meander on his own without immediately investigating why it was so quiet.

It seemed, however, that Gnome was not to be left to his own devices for too long. He picked up a rustling that he at first thought was perhaps a deer or fox or really anything but an equine. If it hadn’t been heading in his direction he may not ever have lifted his head, but as that was not the case he looked around just in time to see the other male approach. He flared his nostrils slightly, and he suddenly realized that the scent of this male was the one that surrounded him.

Rather than retreat from the grullo, Gnome casually turned to face him, ears erect in interest. This was not typically how intruders were treated by band stallions, but as he had simply been eating in a mostly deserted territory he was glad of the unusual attitude directed toward him. Giving a slight smile as he swallowed what remained of his last mouthful, he responded in a rather cheerful tone. "It is, actually!" He paused to regard the reaction of the other male, meeting his gaze calmly with mismatched eyes. Continuing on, his tone became more apologetic. "Sorry I just walked in, I didn't see anyone around and it looked inviting here."

Inhaling deeply, he glanced around at the expanse of grass surrounding them. It felt much nicer here than where he'd first washed up. The lack of a towering mountain surely eased the claustrophobia he had begun to feel. He nearly let himself become lost in his thoughts of exploring this island, but eventually his manners forced him back to the present. Again focusing on his new acquaintance, he hoped the grullo's friendly attitude wouldn't change.
