Carden Alvar Nature Board by Bob BowlesKingfisher, N. Harrier

A Belted Kingfisher scrutinized the Talbot R. from a hydro line at Doyle and 35 this afternoon. A Northern Harrier did some highspeed cruising above the fields in the area of 35 and McNamee. Other than that it was mighty quiet, although I heard a few E. Meadowlarks. 2 pairs of Black Ducks were hanging out with mallards in the temporary pond on Shrike s. of McNamee. Herons are very active at the heronry and several area wetlands.
