Back in 1994, my husband and my self were staying at a B&B in Franklin N.H. and the propitor said she say a mother and her cub in the back of the house. Mind you it wasnt densely populated, And when we had arrived that Friday nite on the dirt road we encountered a big buck and his band fleeing from the edge of the lake across just before us on the dirt road leading to the house. I living in and around Boston all my life have just took it for granted they were there, when visiting each summer in the White mts area and Sabago Lke Me area. But it was no big deal. I was always told if you leave they alone they won't bother you. It is only in the last 15+ years have I noticed such a big deal being made in the New England States. And if I may comment I have never heard of any attacks like out West. Maybe we offer more on their menu!!!
