Svetlana had almost felt a thread of disappointment towards Blackmore when news of his unexcused absence had found her in the Ridge -- she had come to terms, however, with the fact that his personality had not been strong enough to rule over a territory. There may have been other reasons for his abrupt exit of the Lost Islands, but she had heard nothing and didn't care enough to know. She had remained with him because he was nice and caring and easily manipulable, but he had been absent for nearly a month and Svetlana needed more excitement in her life than taking on the role of the dull, worried housewife.
She had taken to the road, spent a little time by the Falls and the Meadow, avoided the Commons has much as possible, and tried her best to hear any rumors that were hanging on the wind. It was difficult to eavesdrop on conversations without being noticed, and Svetlana wasn't one for conversing for no reason, but the snippets of conversation that she was able to hear spoke of the Bay and the Forest. Of the countless territories that flecked the Lost Islands, these were the two places that were teeming with life.
Nosy questions about the Bay had granted her answers full to the brim with disgust -- "Warsaw is terrible," or "Oh gosh, I'd never go there," or "I heard he raped a mare once..." and although Svetlana was usually up for extreme excitement, bickering with herd stallions wasn't on her list of fun things to do. And so she had decided on visiting the Forest, whose leader had a name that she could perhaps only if she flapped her tongue this way and that while attempting to squeal and whinny at the same time. Needless to say, she would need to work on that.
Briefly, she hopes that the ruler of the Forest doesn't mind nicknames.
