We're breaking in, shaping up

The smell of the sea and the man and another woman bring the mare's head back up from its exhausted position. She is tired, and while she wishes her company would move on elsewhere, she becomes a bit more interested when a woman's voice asks for a name. Her question is directed at the red stallion, and though the mare wants nothing to do with the man, she is curious as to his title.

The stallion introduces himself as Vercingetorix, an odd name in the woman's experience, but she finds it fitting nonetheless. It holds both grace and power, and while the paint's experience with him leaves her unwilling to admire him in any form, she does silently admit that it suits him.

The man's introduction seems to invite the two mares to speak, and the grulla pivots on her back hooves with a few steps of her front so that she is facing Vercingetorix and the pale-skinned mare. She is shy, terribly shy, and wishes to be left quiet, but she states her name to be polite; while rudeness would not be much of a problem for her with just the stallion as her conversational partner, the woman he had picked up on their way 'home' seems more damaged than she.

"My name is Syndrome," she says quietly, and keeps her head up even though exhaustion threatens to pull it down again.

IT’S A REVOLUTION, I SUPPOSE; WE’RE PAINTED RED TO FIT RIGHT IN.
